Naperville Election 2023 Candidates

Meet the candidates running for office in the Naperville 2023 consolidated election on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Registered voters will head to the polls to elect the next mayor of Naperville and four members of the nonpartisan Naperville City Council. Voters will also select three individuals to serve on Naperville School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204 Boards of Education and the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners.

As part of NCTV17’s commitment to creating an informed, connected, and engaged community, each candidate running for office had the opportunity to sit down for a TV interview so voters could learn more about their candidacy. The Mayor serves as a member of the nine-member Naperville City Council and serves a 4-year term. Three candidates are running. Candidates are listed in ballot order.

The City of Naperville is a Council-Manager form of government to provide services that ensure a high quality of life, sound fiscal management, and a dynamic business environment while creating an inclusive community that values diversity. The City Council includes the Mayor and eight Council members elected at large for 4-year terms. Eleven candidates are running for the four open council seats in this election cycle. Candidates are listed in ballot order.

The seven-member board of education is responsible for 22 public schools. The mission of D203 is to educate students to be self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers, and community contributors. Five candidates are running for three open seats in this election cycle. Each board member serves a 4-year term. Candidates are listed in ballot order.

The seven-member board of education is responsible for 33 public schools. The mission of D204 is to inspire all students to achieve their greatest potential. Each board member serves a 4-year term. Three candidates are running for the three open seats in this election cycle. Candidates are listed in ballot order.

The Naperville Park District is an independent municipal agency. Their mission is to promote healthy lives, minds, and community by offering a wide variety of recreational opportunities. The Board of Commissioners includes seven members, each elected to a 4-year term. Four candidates are running for three open seats in this election cycle. Candidates are listed in ballot order.

Many groups and organizations facilitate a range of opportunities for candidates running for Mayor, City Council, Park District, and School Boards 203 and 204 to participate in a public forum. These gatherings allow voters to get to know the candidates and hear their views on various topics.
