The community gathered together to celebrate the season at the annual Naperville YMCAs Mayor’s Interfaith Community Breakfast. This year’s Master of Ceremony was Kris Visher, the new owner of Casey’s Foods. She shared her “Y” story of utilizing their Safe n Sound program for her family’s childcare.
Mayor Steve Chirico welcomed everyone to the Naperville YMCAs Mayor’s Interfaith Community Breakfast which often kicks off the holiday season for many by highlighting the meaning of the season for all faiths. The event benefits the YMCAs of Naperville who have played a key role in the Naperville for over 100 years.
This year’s impact speaker was Nick Ryan, CEO of Marquette Companies and Founder of the Institute for Community. He spoke about the community being much like a family and entertained the audience with an impression of the late Mayor George Pradel who founded the event over 15 years ago.
The breakfast was filled with music from the Benet Academy Madrigals and Eagle’s Wings Youth Choir from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The morning’s featured soloist was Bailey Ryan. Bailey is a senior at Lisle High School and plans to pursue a four year degree in marketing and creative writing.
Ray Jones of Friedrich Jones Funeral Home and Cremation Services presented the closing benediction. The Jones family was the presenting sponsor.
The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This event benefits both the Kroehler and Fry Family YMCAs of Naperville.
Naperville YMCAs Mayor’s Interfaith Community Breakfast will be presented on channel 17 throughout the month of December on Naperville Community Television.
