They Shred You.  They Tear You Down.

Dealing with narcissists can prove to be a challenge.  In this episode, several psychologists – including Erin, Jordan, and Sandra Carlson of Family Counseling Service and Sandra Carlson and Associates join Dana on set to offer their expertise on the personality disorder.

“Narcissism often displays itself when people are very grandiose-thinking,” says Erin regarding the signs people should look for.  “People are coming across like ‘I’m better than others.'”

Narcissists are known to affect romantic relationships but can also take its toll on children, in the workplace, or among friends.  Several victims appear on the show to give examples of how debilitating it can be dealing with a narcissist on a daily basis.
“My mother stopped taking care of us when I was in junior high.  We didn’t have lunches.  We weren’t clean every day when we went to school,” says Anne Brown.   “It was pretty sad because my mother just focused on herself.”
