Community Christmas Luncheon:
The YMCA and the Naperville Park District will be spreading some special Christmas cheer tomorrow as they host their 36th annual Community Christmas Luncheon. The free event provides seniors and families in need with a special meal at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. Reservations were taken through December 19 for the special event, made possible by donors and volunteers.
YMCA Holiday Hours:
If you’re looking to get a final workout in before Santa drops off all his Christmas treats, the YMCA will be open today until 2 p.m. But they will be closed on both Christmas and New Years Day.
Naperville North Student Wins Award:
A Naperville North student is well on his way to a successful film career after winning the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Student Production Award. Noah Semeria was given the honor in November for his 3-minute film, Discoveries: Awakening. The film shares the message that life is full of moments that should be savored and experienced. The high school senior has applied to several colleges in Los Angeles hoping to further his education in film.
North Central College All-Conference:
North Central football has been recognized thoroughly by the voters with 13 selections to the all-conference teams. Broc Rutter headlines a group of five offensive players named to the first team, including Ethan Greenfield, Andrew Kamienski, Sharmore Clarke and Rick Strba . Jake Beesley and Ben Wong were named to the first-team defense.
Meanwhile, Broc Rutter was tabbed as the Art Keller Offensive Player of the Year Award winner for a third time. And Sharemore Clarke took home his second consecutive Offensive Lineman of the Year Award.
