Coronavirus Discussion

With concerns about coronavirus growing, the City of Naperville held a meeting to discuss what they’re doing to prevent and prepare. The City of Naperville is working with local health organizations Edward-Elmhurst Health and DuPage County Health Department to educate community members about the COVID-19 virus. They said you should take the same precautions you would for the flu like washing your hands, covering your mouth when you cough, and staying home when you’re under the weather. There are test kits available to see if you have coronavirus, but health officials ask you call your health care provider before going to the hospital for a screening.

Potential Renovations At Parks

There could be some new renovations coming to two Naperville parks. The Naperville Park District is proposing new tile surfaces for their inline skating rinks at Commissioners Park and DuPage River Sports Complex. If the park district board approves the plans construction crews will lay concrete underneath the new tiles at DuPage River Sports Complex’s skating rink. Cost estimations for that project are around $270,000. Since Commissioners Park’s inline rink already has concrete as its surface, costs for installing the tiles is $91,000. Commissioners Park’s fitness stations would also be replaced, which would cost approximately $90,000.

Kiwanis Pancake Fundraiser

Tomorrow you can get your fill of breakfast as the 65th annual Naperville Kiwanis Pancake Fundraiser is set to take place at Naperville Central High School. Starting at 6:30 a.m. through noon community members filled their bellies with sausage, coffee, and of course pancakes. Proceed from the event will go to local charities.
