Metra Station Improvements
Starting Monday, improvements will be made to the Naperville Metra Station to make it ADA accessible. Construction is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday until December 15, though most work will be done during the midday hours to avoid rush hour service. Parking and bus access will not be restricted during construction.
Liquor Commission
A jazz club could be coming to Naperville. Pete Ellman, of Ellman’s Music Center, presented to the liquor commission yesterday, where he asked for a liquor license for a jazz club he hopes to open in the future. It would have theater-style seating, serving some food and a glass of beer or wine during musical performances. He has yet to obtain a location for the club, but has the former School of Performing Arts on Washington Street in mind. The commission approved Ellman’s request, granting him the Class R theater house liquor license. It now goes to city council for final approval.
Healing Field of Honor
The Healing Field of Honor will return to Rotary Hill November 1 through Veterans Day on November 11. The community is invited to purchase one of the 2019 flags decorating the hill and dedicate one to a veteran. All proceeds will go to Operation Support Our Troops-America. The Healing Field of Honor last came to Rotary Hill in 2015.
