Rally Against Racism:

Indivisible DuPage, Stand on Every Corner Naperville, local Democratic organizations and other groups have come together to plan a Hate Has No Home Here rally against racism at the Dandelion Fountain tomorrow night. Community and political leaders will speak about what needs to be done moving forward to combat racism. Those in attendance will include the mother of the Naperville Central student targeted in the racist Craigslist ad and one of the victims of racial discrimination in the Buffalo Wild Wings incident. The rally starts at 5 p.m., and will be streamed live by NCTV17 on our Facebook page.

Driver Rescued After Crashing Into Home:

A driver was rescued from a car that caught on fire after crashing into a Naperville home on Saturday. Around 3:20 p.m., the car veered off the road and into a home in the 800 block of Edgewater Drive. It then caught fire. A police officer and bystander were able to break the car window with the officer’s baton and pull the unresponsive driver, who was the sole occupant, from the car. The driver was taken to Edward Hospital in stable condition. No one was home at the time of the crash. Officials deemed the home to be habitable, and continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

State Swim Meet Results:

The girls swim season came to an end on Saturday at the state swim meet, with Neuqua Valley taking home the state championship for the second year in a row.

The Wildcats won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and the 500-meter freestyle thanks to junior Rachel Stege. They also picked up a state championship in diving from junior Jane Riehs.

Metea Valley finished in fifth place as a team as junior McKenna Stone won the 100-meter butterfly state title. Paige Collins of Naperville Central finished in second.

Congratulations to all our swimmers and divers on a great year.

Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast:

And finally, your dose of cuteness for the day – kindergarteners at Saints Peter and Paul got into the holiday spirit today at their Thanksgiving Feast. The kids talked about what they’re thankful for, sang a song, and then dug into their feast. Before the celebrations, they made their very own pilgrim hats, necklaces and Thanksgiving decorations.
