Naperville woman sentenced to 38 years for fiancé’s murder
A Naperville woman was sentenced Wednesday to 38 years in prison for the 2020 murder of her fiancé.
Rosa Lagrone, 40, shot Darnell Manns while the two were having an argument about him allegedly dating another woman.

Motorcyclist killed in Naperville crash Tuesday
A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed Tuesday in a crash with a pickup truck at a Naperville intersection.
The incident happened around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of E. Warrenville Road and N. Washington Street.

Naperville ninjas part of Team USA at OCR World Championships
Two Naperville natives, Jeremy Lauff and Claire Mattern, along with Chicagoland residents Henry Mihajlovic, Savannah Serio, and Anthony Battaglia, will be representing the United States at the Obstacle Course Racing World Championships.
The group of 11 to 17-year-olds headed to Limerick, Ireland, for the competition, happening August 6 to 9.

New report on how Morton Arboretum plans to conserve Asian oaks
Scientists at The Morton Arboretum have authored a new report that found “an urgent need” to increase conservation efforts of many oak tree species in east and southeast Asia.
The report, called Conservation Gap Analysis of Select Native Asian Oaks, included research efforts by scientists at the arboretum, along with collaborators from the region.
