Speedway Gas Station Armed robbery

The Naperville Police Department responded to an armed robbery at approximately 3 a.m. today, December 9, at a Speedway Gas Station near Route 59 and 111th Street. The suspects, both described as 6’00” medium build black males, one of whom displayed a handgun during the incident, were last seen fleeing westbound on 11thin dark-colored car. Yuletide Fest

A new holiday event is in Naperville. Yuletide Fest at Naper Settlement has all your holiday needs with hot cocoa, vendors selling ornaments, and warming up by the fire pits. You can also take a stroll through the grounds to enjoy all the twinkling lights, and there are plenty of decorative designs to pose for some photos. Yuletide Fest is open on the weekends until December 22.

Tuba Christmas

The Naperville Municipal Band hosted their 40th annual Tuba Christmas in Downtown Naperville. A total of 75 performers treated the large crowd at the U.S. Bank on Washington Street to 11 holiday carols. Ronald Keller has been the director for 54 years, and will be passing the baton onto the next conductor in the next three years.

NCC Football

Punching its ticket to the NCAA Division 3 playoff semi-finals, North Central took down ninth-ranked Delaware Valley this past Saturday at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. With the 31-14 win, the fifth-ranked Cardinals advance to the fourth round for the second time in program history. Senior quarterback Broc Rutter threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns, while first team All-American junior receiver Andrew Kamienski caught 7 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. The Cardinals will travel to Allentown, Pennsylvania to battle with Muhlenberg this Saturday for the right to advance to the Stagg Bowl in Texas on December 20th.
