The Naperville Salute
It’s official – Naperville Responds for Veterans will host The Naperville Salute. It’s a brand new Fourth of July celebration coming to Rotary Hill and Naper Settlement. Organizers say the event will be centered around veterans, active military, and our first responders, and will feature local food and music. The event will take place July 3-4 and include fireworks.
Downtown Christmas Lights
It may be November, but Downtown Naperville is already getting in the holiday spirit by turning on its holiday lights. Last night the trees and rooftops of downtown lit up for the first time of the season, after being put up by the Department of Public Works for the past few months. Now through the spring you can enjoy the lights and decorations as they illuminate downtown.
Naperville Player Gets Full Ride
Yesterday was unforgettable for 2017 Neuqua Valley graduate Donny Navarro. In a twitter video that has gone viral across the state, University of Illinois head coach Lovie Smith awarded Navarro with a full scholarship after yesterday’s practice. Navarro had been a walk on wide receiver the past two seasons, and is now one of the team’s starting receivers. Last month he even caught a key touchdown in the Illini’s shocking upset win over Wisconsin.
Game On! Episode 9
It was a sitcom showdown last night as NCTV17’s own game show Game On! took over Center Stage Theater. Team Late Night battled it out with Team Prime Time in episode nine of the show, hosted by 95.9 The River’s Danielle Tufano. Captaining Team Late Night was Jacque Clermont from Naperville School District 203, who was joined by her Golden Girls companions – T2 Asset Management’s Paul Novak, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Kaylin Risvold, and Bernicky Law Firm’s James Bernicky. They took on Team Prime Time’s Simpson family, who was captained by Amanda Kunzer from Edgewood Clinical Services. On her couch was Keith Hartenberger from Edward-Elmhurst Health, Mari Rodriguez from DynaCom, and Colton Antos from CodeVerse.
