Witches Night Out
Magic was in the air at Naper Settlement last night, for an enchanting evening of charity and cackles. Nearly 700 spellcasting witches came out for the Naperville Woman’s Club’s third annual Witches Night Out. Psychic readings, raffles, and a witch’s bazaar were just some of the fun to be had. It was done to support this year’s focus charity, Mutual Ground, a domestic violence services center. The event’s funds will also go to a dozen other local charities.
Scarecrow Trail
Another piece of Halloween fun to enjoy is over at the Morton Arboretum, for their annual Scarecrow Trail. All day in October you can check out dozens of handmade scarecrows along the Meadow Lake Trail, all created by local girl and boy scout troops. You can even vote for your favorite.
Walk to Remember
This Saturday, Edward-Elmhurst Health’s SHARE program will put on the 15th annual Walk to Remember. The event supports families who have experienced the loss of a child. Prior to the two-mile walk around the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, walkers can also participate in a short memorial service. You can still sign up online on Edward’s website.
Softball Gold Medalists
And congratulations go out to eight senior softball players from Naperville Park District’s Men’s 50+ League. Their regional team, The Challengers, recently won its third gold medal at the National Senior Games, which is a part of Senior Softball USA. The team will be recognized at the December 12 park board meeting.
