The Last Fling
The 2019 Naperville Jaycees Last Fling is back for another year. The event kicked off Friday evening and it’s just the beginning of the fun-filled weekend.
Some people munched on a snack, while others couldn’t help but get up and dance to the music or scream on the carnival rides.
New Admission Fee
New this year, the cost for a full day including the carnival is $10.
“We’re doing that to try and keep the costs down for tickets at the main stage where generally tickets had been $35-$50 per person for one night only. You now can either pay $10 at the door and get anywhere in the festival or you can pay $30 for the weekend pass,” said Karen Coleman, Co-Chair of PR, Marketing and Entertainment for the Last Fling.
The Entertainment
And there are many people who are there to enjoy the entertainment.
“They always have bands that fit perfectly into an important part of my life – so from high school, from college. A band that I can’t believe I’m able to see two miles from my house,” said attendee Jayson Miller.
“Tonight I’m looking forward to the lead band. I looked at the lineup and I previewed them all on YouTube. And I think this band that’s coming up next is awesome,” said attendee Carolyn Burns.
Friday’s top headliner is Better Than Ezra. The other bands to look out for this weekend are Vertical Horizon and Big Head Todd and the Monsters – the only band who is new to the Fling.
A Look at the Weekend
Also coming up this weekend is Family Fun Land which opens Saturday morning, Frank E’s Fling Mile, and the Labor Day Parade.
