2003 was one for the books… when it comes to the Naperville Public Library.

The city celebrated the opening of the 95th Street branch on September 21st, one day before the 105th anniversary of the opening of the city first library, the Nichols Library.

Under the leadership of director Donna Dziedic, the Naperville Public Library had been looking to better serve the city’s growing population, particularly to the south.

On April 28th, 2002, crews broke ground on the $15.8 million 95th Street Library and the facility was completed less than a year and a half later, on time and under budget.

To this day, all three branches of the Naperville Public Library have an annual total circulation of more than 5,000,000 items.
