The Alive Center is partnering up with the Fry YMCA to create a satellite teen space.

“Alive @ Fry” will provide free teen drop-in hours for sixth through 12th graders, every Wednesday and Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

“Well the Alive Center has been open for over three and a half years now. And I think from the very first month that we opened we were getting requests to do something in South Naperville. So we definitively have interest from the community in doing this,” said CEO of the Alive Center Kandice Henning.

Free mentoring, classes, and just after-school hangouts are some of what will be provided in the satellite space.

It’ll be a work in progress as the pilot program starts now and goes until August. Then the Alive Center and Fry YMCA will look into keeping it around permanently.

This is only the first of a few satellite spaces the Alive Center has planned. Another should be coming to Aurora sometime this year.
