The Naperville Table Tennis Tournament brought out 30 participants in the adult division and 15 participants in the youth division.
The annual competition was co-sponsored by the Naperville Park District and Naperville Table Tennis Club.
This was the first year the tournament was double-elimination, unlike years past which were single-elimination.
“This tournament actually goes back at least 36 years, and maybe longer. In fact it’s older then the school that we now run the tournament in. So it’s a long-standing tradition here in Naperville,” said Brock Atwell, a program director at Naperville Park District. “But this tournament, especially amongst the club members and the participants, have been a part of this for a long time.”
The participants ranged from dedicated table tennis players to those who play more recreationally.
Each division awarded trophies to winners.
The Naperville Table Tennis Club meets weekly and is open to new players. The club offers a series of 6-week sessions between January and May, with the next session beginning February 23. For more information check out their website.
