A piece of art in Downtown Naperville has been restored to its former glory.
Century Walk held a special rededication ceremony to unveil the recently refurbished “Man’s Search for Knowledge Through the Ages” located outside the Nichols Library.
Last summer an 81-year-old driver crashed through the brick relief wall, creating a six-foot hole.
Since then, Century Walk and artist Dodie Mondero have been working to restore the piece brick by brick.
“I think it’s fantastic. It’s tough to say that it’s better than it was but it’s equally as good and people would never know that this happened,” said President of Century Walk Corporation, Brand Bobosky.
The restoration cost over 50,000 dollars, most of which was covered by insurance.
“Man’s Search for Knowledge Through the Ages” was built in 1987 and officially adopted by Century Walk in 1998.
