The SECA Commission recently voted on what to do with leftover Christkindlmarket funds.
It was announced in April that Christkindlmarket will not be returning to Naper Settlement this year. But the SECA Commission had already allocated $70,000 to the event, creating the question of what to do with that money.
Recently, $15,000 of that pot was used for the WGN Block Party which occurred on July 12, but the remaining $55,000 was still up in the air.
The commission voted to recommend designating the Christkindlmarket funds as underspend, which will roll over into SECA’s 2021 grant funding budget.
That recommendation will go to Naperville City Council for final approval.
