Kids got a chance to get hands on with some creepy crawlers at the Knoch Knolls Nature Center.
The fourth annual Creepy Critters Day brought kids face to face with snakes, roaches, and other unusual animals.
“My favorite thing about creepy critters was that I got to hold a cockroach,” said nine-year old Maliah Glass.
Visitors to the free event put on by the Naperville Park District could craft their own bats, guess what was in the mystery boxes, and dig for worms,
The goal of Creepy Critters Day is to dispel the notion that these animals are scary or gross.
“It just sounded like a fun thing to do, right? She loves creepy critters and she likes worms and bugs,” said Melissa Prucha, a babysitter who took two children to the event.
Kids also got to enjoy a creepy story time presented by the Naperville Public Library.
A fun event as we slither into the Halloween season.
