A man was found unresponsive inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Scullen Middle School last night.
Officers received a call at 7:19 p.m. Friday evening and found the windows of a vehicle broken, and a 37-year-old Oswego man inside with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to Edward Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An after-school club was meeting in the building at the time and was put on lockdown. All students that were inside the school have been reported safe.
Other non-district organizations were holding activities in the building as well.
The incident did not involve Scullen Middle School and there is no apparent threat to the general public according to police.
There has yet to be a suspect from the incident as police continue their investigation.
UPDATE: Victim has been identified as Matthew Lange of Oswego.
