The DuPage County Health Department has reported the first human case of West Nile Virus in 2019. A Lombard women in her 40’s became ill in August.
The DCHD also reported a recent increase of mosquitos having WNV. According the DCHD symptoms from the disease include, fever, headaches, vomiting and diarrhea.
Tips On How To Prevent Mosquito Bites
The health department offered tips to prevent getting bitten by mosquitos; Drain items that collect water around buildings, use an insect repellent containing DEET when outdoors during peak mosquitos hours of dusk to dawn, and wear clothing that limits your skin exposure

Including this case, there have been a total of four human cases of West Nile Virus in Illinois in 2019.
