Naperville native Tamir Ardon’s story has come full circle. At the age of five he saw ‘Back to the Future’ at the Tivoli, and found inspiration in the time traveling car.
“I just knew that I was going to have one of these cars one day,” said Ardon. “I didn’t know at that point that I was going to obsess with the car, the company, the man, and making a movie but I knew it was going to be a special part of my life. And it has definitely opened up doors that I could’ve never imagined.”
And now, 30 more than years later, he’s at the Downers Grove movie theater for a special screening of his documentary about the DeLorean.

With popcorn in hand, moviegoers saw ‘Framing John DeLorean’. The film took the audience on a roller-coaster journey of the DeLorean car creation.
For Ardon the gull-winged car has propelled his career. Currently he’s in charge of producing documentary films for a production company in L.A.
But bringing his movie back home was a special moment for the filmmaker.

“Having family, friends, and my second grade teacher from elementary school, who I asked to marry me when I was a little kid, that is all super special,” said Ardon. “I think for a lot of these people they’ve seen my obsession over the last 20-30 years and now they kind of see it culminated on screen.”
The night ended with a q&a about the film, and of course a round of applause.
