Ewwey gooey monsters and casting magic spells got a group of young wizards in the Halloween spirit.
Screams for Halloween were in the air when the Naperville Park District recently held a Cool Science activity night, combining STEM learning with enchanting fun.
“We’re all about hands on science. Often at this age group, 3 to 5 years old, they’re a little bit afraid to be dirty. Probably because the parents are like ‘don’t touch this, don’t touch that.’ But in our classes they have the permission to touch everything. And what’s fun is they learn about science without really knowing it’s educational and fun at the same time,” said owner of Cool Science Clementine Calleja.
The group used their “magic” to create a colorful spell over some “ghost tears”, then they practiced their powers by blowing up balloons with no hands, and they created their own franken-slime baby monsters.
Cool Science hosts events with the Naperville Park District once a month, and you can register for their next class on the park district website.
