2015 was a unique year for the already-special Healing Field of Honor.
In less than an hour, volunteers placed 2,015 American flags on Rotary Hill as part of the annual event. The sea of red, white and blue waving in the wind was a somber tribute to all veterans. That year, however, also marked the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Vietnam War. In remembrance, several organizations partnered together to build a scale model of the Vietnam memorial wall, displaying some 58,000 names of all those killed in the war. 11 plaques specifically honored Naperville men whose lives were lost in action.
