Heart Sculptures Bring Love to Downtown

Downtown Naperville’s “lovely” summer sculptures are now on display.

Now through mid-September you’ll find 18 heart sculptures scattered throughout town.

The talents of local artists were once again featured on the pieces, which were sponsored by Naperville businesses.

“We’re following up by a tradition that was started years ago by the United Way. And when they left town so did the sculpture program but people always love these. So the Downtown Naperville Alliance I’d say about maybe as much as seven years ago now, I suggested we bring them back. So we start the process back earlier in the year. We look at a variety of designs and hearts were chosen this year, [which are] basically a universal theme good for anyone at anytime. So we’re really delighted,” explained Katie Wood, the executive director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance.

Photos with the sculptures are encouraged, but remember not to climb on them, because at the end of the display period most of the sculptures are donated to charitable causes.

And you can find a map of where all the summer sculptures are on the Downtown Naperville website.
