Back to School Bash
The cloudy weather couldn’t keep students away from Simmons Park at Imperfect Angels‘ third annual Back to School Bash.
The organization helps empower young women who are going through a difficult time.
“We wanted something that we could actually give back to the community as a whole and provide community service hours for the young women that participate in our programs. So this was just the best idea to bring the community together and show the youth that we’re all rooting for their success,” said Imperfect Angels President, Jetara Perry.
Free School Items
They show that support to kindergarten through 12th grade students by offering free items like binders for high school students, bags of essential school supplies, and backpacks if you win the raffle.
But it’s not just about gearing up for school that’s important to the students.
A Fun Time
“Having a day of just fun, while their parents are doing all the work getting the supplies they get to just get face painting and tattoos and the bounce house. So I think they love it every year,” said Perry.
Students were also able to get a closer look at fire trucks, jam out to the dance performances, and get a haircut before the start of the new school year.
