September 10 through 16 was International Housekeeping Week, and one local business used that reason to celebrate their workers in a special way.
The Chicago Marriott Naperville Hotel celebrated its workers with salsa lessons, free meals and even gifts.
One special day included a trolley tour of Naperville for all the housekeeping staff.
General Manager Dan Gustafson said he wanted to thank the housekeepers because they help keep the business running.
“Housekeepers are working so hard, and they take care of our rooms, the cleanliness,” said Gustafson. “We typically have one of the top scorers in our company, and it’s always good to say thank you and appreciate them for all they do for our hotel and all our guests.”
Gustafson said the hotel celebrated the housekeepers a week late because they were too busy to have enough fun during the official week.
