Keegan Allen, one of the stars of Pretty Little Liars, recently stopped by Metea Valley High School
And though he fielded questions about the show, he was actually there to talk about his new photography book, “Hollywood: Photos and Stories from Foreverland.”
Allen is a Hollywood native, so he wanted to share his perspective of the city through pictures.
“If you have been to Hollywood, or you’ve never been to Hollywood, or if you’re a tourist and you’re just visiting, you have different ideas of what it is,” said Allen. “It’s this dream it’s this chase it’s this idea. I wanted to put it in a picture book that was tangible.”
“Hollywood” is actually his second photography book. His first, “live.love.beauty.” features photos from his personal life.
Though he’s best known as an actor, Allen has had a passion for photography since he first picked up a camera at the age of nine.
“I’d take a photo, and it would be a chase. I’d take another photo that was even better and I’d be inspired over and over. It had nothing to do with looking at my own work; it’s just that doing it made me feel good,” Allen said.
In addition to the Q&A, Allen signed books and gave some tips to Metea’s photography students on how to improve their craft.
