KidsMatter Job Fair Offers More Than Work

Over 55 companies were on hand at North Central College for the annual KidsMatter Job Fair.

From part-time and seasonal work to internships and volunteer opportunities, the job fair had plenty of open positions for 15 to 23-year-olds to explore and talk face-to-face with employers.

“It’s a little overwhelming at first, but when you start going through it, it’s actually a lot better being there in person rather than scrolling through a website,” said attendee Henry Samson, a senior at Neuqua Valley High School.

The job fair also had an application station and a spot where professionals could help with resume building and conduct mock interviews.

“So we have 20 different business professionals from within the Naperville area, and they are there to help the students, teach them a great way to interview. Make sure you look them in the eye, shake their hand, and try to give the kids some confidence before they go and do interviews,” explained Program Manager for KidsMatter Cindy Allara.

The KidsMatter Job Fair has been held for more than 14 years.
