As the sun set on a recent spring night, kids scrambled on the hunt to find thousands of hidden eggs.
Flashlights, warm clothes, and Easter baskets: the gear of choice of over 130 kids ready to take on the Naperville park District’s Flashlight Egg Hunt.
Once the sky was dark, the hunt was on. Kids raced to start collecting some of the 2,000 Easter eggs scattered around Knoch Knolls Park.
“We have over 2,000 eggs and 1,300 bigger prizes in those eggs. Not the traditional piece of candy or spider ring. We have some nice prizes that the kids are vying for,” said Fred Gusel, program manager for the Naperville Park District.
Prizes like passes to Centennial Beach, free paddleboat rentals, coupons for free pizza, and more.
And while a lot of those eggs were easy to find, others had kids searching off the beaten path to earn their egg-cellent rewards.
