For over 50 years now, Naperville has been throwing the Last Fling to send summer out with a bang.
Carnival rides, guilty-pleasure fair food, and live music are all parts of this tradition treasured by lifelong Naperville residents.
“I can look at this intersection of Jackson and Eagle Street anytime of the year and picture the Zipper and the corn dog stand,” said Naperville Jaycees President Matt Dingeldine. “I’m so happy to be involved in a level now that I can create those memories for other people.”
The festival classics are still a big draw.
“I love the dunk tank, and we came for the concerts, and the rides for the little one,” said fling fan Liz Doyle.
“I love all the games, all the rides,” added young fling fan Luke Ventsan.
There’s lots of other fun to be had at the fling.
A pop-up escape room and a cupcake eating contest were new additions for this year.
And of course, some big talent has been gracing the main stage, with The Pop 2000 Tour on Friday, the Gen X Summer Tour on Saturday, and Cheap Trick and hometown heroes Luckyd Boys Confusion on Sunday.
Making summer’s Last Fling one to remember.
