Xilin Asian Community Center recently celebrated the Moon Festival with more than 150 Naperville area seniors.
Activities included traditional dances, songs, and even skits for seniors to enjoy.
The Moon Festival is a yearly celebration when the moon is believed to be the fullest and brightest in the sky.
Event organizers said it’s a time for family reunion and to celebrate home.
“So the whole family is together. And even though you are not at home, everybody looks at the same moon, thinking about the ones you love, so that’s the whole concept,” said June Yang, director of the Naperville Xilin Association.
Moon festival is the second largest festival celebrated in many Asian countries, after Chinese New Year.
