From garland to tinsel and poinsettias to boughs of holly, decorations adorned four Naperville homes from head to toe thanks to the help of a local non-profit.

Since mid-November, the Naperville Garden Club had been helping these homeowners “deck the halls” and recently showcased their work to the community during their annual fundraiser.

Named after the commemorative teacup each participant receives, the “Cup of Cheer” housewalk features a self-guided tour through each home, displaying different styles of holiday décor.

“Oh, the homes have been absolutely beautiful! I’ve even gotten some ideas for my own home for next year! Just a wonderful event and all for a good cause,” said housewalk attendee Karen Patterson.

Money raised from the event will help fund some of the club’s initiatives, including scholarships for students – preferably in school districts 203 & 204 – pursuing a degree related to gardening.

Last year’s event raised enough money for seven scholarships and the scholarships from this year’s event will be awarded next April.
