Naperville Meets About Harvey Relief

The City of Naperville held a community meeting to help educate residents on the best ways to assist those affected by Harvey.

“We need to make sure our donations are made in a meaningful way that provides the best help to people suffering in Harvey’s wake,” said Mayor Steve Chirico. “We also need to realize this will be an ongoing recovering. Our time, resources and talents will be needed for many years.”

City officials and relief experts were on hand to discuss some of the best ways to give – with money being the biggest current need.

“It give agencies the flexibility in obtaining most needed resources, pumps money, and I think this is equally important, pumps money into the local economy to help businesses recover, to help people get themselves back on their feet,” said Susan Koranda, a Naperville resident who sits on the Advisory Board with the Chicago Salvation Army.

To help Naperville residents know how and where to donate, the city created a page on their website dedicated to Hurricane Harvey relief which will have the most up-to-date information on charities and relief efforts in our area.
