Local marketing students were challenged to get innovative.
3252 Wolf’s Crossing Road is currently an empty lot, but the Naperville Park District challenged District 204 marketing students to think creatively about what to do with the 33 acres.
The challenge was for marketing students to find the best possible way to utilize the land and fit the needs of the community while keeping with the park district’s mission.
Students had to develop proposals with a budget, doing market research, data analysis, and surveying the public.
The proposals were presented to a panel of experts at City Hall, which included council members and many park district officials.
“The whole idea behind the project and the business department’s philosophy is to give kids unique opportunities that they’re going to encounter in their careers and professions,” said Brian Giovanini, the director of elective curriculum for District 204. “So if the student in the marketing class, they want to gain exposure to what a marketing career would look like.”
The winning proposal will be announced on March 9th.
