Naperville Park District to maintain more Riverwalk Land

The Naperville Park District is expanding their maintenance work.

At a recent City Council meeting, the council signed off on an agreement for the city to pay the Park District about an additional $6,000 a year to maintain the land the city now owns along the Water Street development.

That’s in addition to the nearly $160,000 the city paid the park district last year to maintain other parts of the Riverwalk through an intergovernmental agreement.

The new portion of the Riverwalk, which is still currently closed for construction of the Water Street development, will feature a new walkway, shepard’s hook lighting, benches and landscaping.

That portion of the Riverwalk will open once overhead construction of Water Street development is complete.
