Egg-citement was in the air as 150 kids eagerly waited for the sun to set.
They were ready to start the Naperville Park District’s Flashlight Egg Hunt, where 3,500 eggs scattered throughout Knoch Knolls Park – a tradition made a little more interesting thanks to the dark.
“First of all, you have to use a flashlight, if you aren’t shining in the right place, you won’t find the egg,” said Samantha Walden, Special Events Coordinator with the Naperville Park District. “Plus it was really fun because you get the ambiance of the sun starting to set and all of a sudden it’s really dark.”
Once it was dark, the kids scrambled off to collect the eggs. Many were easy to find, others made kids work together to light up their hiding spots.
Prizes inside the eggs ranged from coupons, to candy, to tickets to be redeemed for toys from the park district – perfect rewards to cap off an egg-cellent hunt.
