Naperville Pumpkin Races

It was off to the races…pumpkin races that is, at Rotary Hill this afternoon.

Turning Pointe Autism Foundation’s second annual event brought out the creativity in everyone. From Darth Vader and a dragon, to Captain Underpants and a hot dog.

“It’s pretty fun to discover all the other pumpkins,” said Katie, a pumpkin racer.

Racers could grab a kit and make craft their own pumpkin at the pit stop, or bring their own from home and drop them off at the pumpkin valet before their race.

“It was really fun because we got to design, my mom and I, and her company is a sponsor, so it was fun to go get the supplies and build it,” said Peter, another pumpkin racer.

Joining the racing fun was a decorating contest and costume contest.

And of course there had to be some fun with smashing some pumpkins that broke the rules.

Some pumpkin fun to get everyone into the Halloween spirit.
