Naperville Senior Center’s Christmas in July

It was Christmas in July at the Naperville Senior Center.

The facility celebrated joining the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, while owners Mike and Pam Cooper showed off what they do at their adult day services center.

“A lot of our seniors become very sedentary, they become isolated, they become depressed, then they get weaker and then you get all kinds of problems,” explained Pam. “We can keep people moving, keep them at their same functional level, by walking our track, going on our new step bike, going on exercise programs with me on the mat since I’m a physical therapist.”

The Coopers say the Christmas in July theme was also great for providing their members with purposeful activities, like making centerpieces and various other decorations for the event.

And the Carillon Club of Naperville sponsored their own Christmas in July for the fourth year. They collected toys and handmade quilts that are being donated to the Ronald McDonald house.
