At the most recent city council meeting the group made way for a new development to come to town.

This by way of a new traffic pattern that was approved for the Ashwood Crossing neighborhood, an age restricted community for those aged 55 and older that will bring 103 homes to the area around 248th Avenue and 95th Street.

While Wolf’s Crossing Road will be rerouted to connect to 95th Street, council also approved the extension of Trumpet Avenue after many residents voiced their concerns.

“It is a very basic issue, of not forcing residents, kids and buses to drive around a large bypass. It is less convenient, less safe and inefficient,” said Naperville resident Jim Shehee.

The cost of the extension will be covered by the developer, Pulte Home Corp. But the city will contribute $180,000 for two traffic signals for the road.

“All the pluses so outweigh the negatives when you think about completing Trumpet. When you look at our citizen survey, again what is our number one concern is traffic,” said Councilwoman Becky Anderson.
