After a community satisfaction survey was given to randomly selected households in Naperville last year, a representative from ETC Institute, the company who conducted survey, revealed the results to the public.
“Overall residents have a very, very positive perception of the city, there’s a couple of examples but 93 percent were satisfied with overall quality of life, compared to less than one percent dissatisfied. And then the number that stands out to me: 91 percent satisfied with the overall quality of service provided by the city, so 9 out of every 10 residents,” explained Jason Morado, Senior Project Manager with ETC Institute.
Despite those high numbers, residents did list some areas of improvement for the city to work on like traffic flow and congestion and police services.
“I think the city’s done a great job, I’ve lived here 45 years so I’ve seen the city grow dramatically. It didn’t surprise me at all that the biggest issue is north/south travel that’s always been difficult and I was a little surprised that the police visibility in neighborhoods has gone down,” said Gary Smith, a Naperville resident.
The city has conducted a survey like this every three years to measure trends, compare performance, and help determine priorities.
In total, 1395 residents took the community survey.
