Downtown Naperville was red, white, and blue for the Memorial Day Parade this morning.
Veterans from all branches of the military were honored, including those currently serving and those who have fallen.
Many came out to celebrate the true meaning of the holiday.
“To represent the soldiers that worked hard for our country,” said Addise, an eight-year-old attendee.
While others enjoyed the camaraderie of being together with family and friends for Memorial Day.
“And I like seeing Naperville come together. It’s cool when everyone is just down here enjoying the weather and supporting everyone,” said attendee, Chloe Scott.
“We’ve been coming for over 20 years because our son, who’s autistic, just loves this,” said attendee Eric Blackledge. “He loves the bands, he loves the whole thing, and it’s really special to see him enjoy the parade.”
District 203 and 204 schools performed patriotic music along the route, along with many other organizations that walked through the parade.
All to show support of those who have served our country.
Happy Memorial Day!
