Moe Mitchell, a North Central College student entrepreneur recently received a prestigious award.
Mitchell first began Moe Mow’s, a lawn company, almost six years ago. He pitched the business at Future Founders U-Pitch, and was selected as one of eighteen across the nation to receive the Future Founders Award, aimed to mentor and develop young entrepreneurs skills.
“I’ve been really struggling with not having a mentor for my company,” said Mitchell. “I knew this was going to be the perfect opportunity where I could get to full potential, but then also have a mentor to help me out with my company as well.”
Mitchell’s app was the highlight of the pitch. It’s helped him grow his business and allowed him to essentially run the company by himself.
“Now we’re servicing a couple hundred houses per week. We’re a tech service, basically Uber for lawn care. We’re run through a mobile app now,” he added.
Now as a future founder Mitchell is not only shaping lawns, but also his network through fellowship events and seminars.
Mitchell started the fellowship in January that will go through November.
