Twelve new and improved security cameras have been placed in Naperville, six of them at Downtown Naperville intersections.
Installation took place at locations like Washington Street and Chicago Avenue, Jackson Avenue and Main Street and along Jefferson Avenue.
The new cameras, installed by Pace Systems for about $117,000, will replace equipment that was ten years old. Police hope the better picture quality and detail can help aid in investigations.
The city has a total of 66 cameras in the downtown area.
