The Route 59 train station may see a new set of townhomes.
At the latest planning and zoning meeting, the commission approved a new 1.72-acre subdivision near the Route 59 Train Station.
The new development will replace a parking lot with 19 townhomes in two six-unit buildings and one seven-unit building. Each unit will have its own garage and driveway.
“This is a good project,” said Planning and Zoning Commissioner Carrie Hansen. “It’s a piece of property that has been lying vacant for a significant amount of time. We’re thrilled that we can generate some revenue for the various taxing districts for the development of this property.”
The proposed subdivision must now be approved by City Council.
