The leader of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce is stepping down.

Longtime Leader Leaving

This fall, president and CEO Nicki Anderson will be leaving the role she’s held since February 2014. Even then she knew her position was temporary.

“The intention was to fix some of the issues that they were having and to get it on strong footing and then move on,” said Anderson.

Her Accomplishments

In her five-and-a-half-years there, Anderson has helped rebrand the chamber by growing the young professionals network, updating technology, and improving communication systems.

She says the chamber’s future looks bright, as her team begins looking for its next leader, who will step in in late October or early November.

What’s Next for Anderson

As for Anderson, she’s open to whatever comes next.

“I believe that we’re all given gifts and strengths and I want to make sure that I tap every one out by the time I’m done working, if that day ever comes,” she added. “But I don’t know what’s next. I want to make sure that whatever I do, it has impact and that I’m able to feel that it’s purpose driven.”

The chamber will start accepting applications on July 8 for the president and CEO position.
