“A promising start” – that was the slogan behind North Central College’s sesquicentennial celebration.
Throughout 2011, NCC staff, students, alumni, and the greater community enjoyed festivities commemorating the college’s 150-year history. Events included several concerts, an all-class alumni reunion celebration, and five-part documentary series produced by NCTV17.
The college also moved homecoming back so it would coincide with the first day of classes on November 11th, 1861, what was then called Plainfield College.
The anniversary was a capstone event for then president Hal Wilde who joined North Central College in 1991 and served nearly 22 years.
