Pennies for Pies 2019

Donate Today

Around this time every year, the Naperville Park District reminds residents that a little change goes a long way with the Pennies for Pies initiative.

Loose Change Goes a Long Way

The park district is collecting loose change leading up to Thanksgiving to purchase pies to donate to families in need. This is the 13th year they’ve done the program.

“For our Pennies for Pies initiative we’d like to try to raise enough funds to purchase about 120 pies. That’s what we were able to do last year,” said Brad Wilson, the park district’s director of recreation and facilities. “[The pies] are then donated to Loaves and Fishes to benefit the families that are putting together their Thanksgiving dinners.”

Lots of Locations

Residents can drop spare change in collection jars located in all park district facilities, including the administration building, Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, Fort Hill Activity Center and more.

The pies will be purchased and delivered to Loaves & Fishes on November 22.
