Phase 4 Guidelines Announced; Implementation Begins June 26

Phase 4 Guidelines

Phase 4 guidelines for Governor J.B. Pritzker’s ‘Restore Illinois’ plan have been announced ahead of June 26, when they will be implemented.

What Will Illinois’ Phase 4 Guidelines Include?

The new phase will permit safe reopening of several industries including health and fitness, movie theaters, museums and zoos. It will also allow for expansion for indoor dining at restaurants. In addition, phase 4 allows for group gathering sizes to increase from 10 or less to 50 or less.

Illinois has seen a consistent decline in cases of COVID-19 since the May 12 peak, when 4,014 new cases were recorded. Illinois has seen between 400-800 new confirmed cases per day since June 8th.

“Over the last four months, Illinoisans have pulled together with the common mission of keeping each other safe. By staying home and practicing social distancing, the rate of new COVID-19 cases continues to drop and each region throughout the state is prepared to move to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan,” said Governor J.B. Pritzker.

Who is Moving to Phase 4?

All four regions of the state are currently on track to move into Phase 4 on June 26. The shift to Phase 4 is expected to bring back 400,000 jobs, which represents 7% of the workforce.
