Cosley Zoo’s Pumpkin Fest

As Halloween draws near, it’s time to be on the hunt for that perfect pumpkin. And to make your search a bit more wild, Cosley Zoo may be the spot for you.

October is the time to celebrate fall, and Wheaton’s Cosley Zoo is hosting their annual Pumpkin Fest all month long.

“It’s a lot of fun to see the kids get so excited with the variety and sizes of the pumpkins. Some of the cutest things is probably watching some of those little kids try and pick out their pumpkin, which is three times bigger than they are it seems like or feels like,” said Tami Romejko, education and guest experiences manager at Cosley Zoo.

Picking Pumpkins

Picking out pumpkins is all about having fun, but it’s also about finding the right one.

“Getting a pumpkin is actually hard because there are multiple choices everywhere. You don’t really know which one you’ll pick,” said 8-year-old Johnny.

Once you’ve picked one out, kids can hop on a ride while parents take a look at straw bales and corn stalks they may want to take home.

And since the event is free with zoo admission, don’t forget to carve out some time to say hello to your favorite animals before leaving.
