Several parks around Naperville will be getting a new look this summer.

The Naperville Park District took designs from eight companies as options for renovations to playgrounds at Century Farms Park, Farmington Park, Pembroke Park, University Heights Park and Yorkshire Manor Park.

Residents were invited to an open house to see and vote on options for each playground.

Park district employees say the parks undergo renovations every 15 years, and these are due for a makeover.

Project Manager Jessica Burgdorf says one new feature is getting a lot of attention this year.

“One option we saw that was popular is zip lines. We had one option that goes straight back and forth and also another option that is circular,” said Project Manager Jessica Burgdorf.

The park district plans to take bids for the projects in winter, begin construction around April and have the parks up and running at the beginning of the summer.
